Leah Missbach Day

Documentary Photographer; Co-founder of World Bicycle Relief

Since 1995, Leah Missbach Day has been pursuing documentary photography. Numerous museums and galleries in Chicago, as well as New York and Syria have exhibited her work. Much of her work has focused on the many transitions teenagers must negotiate while coming of age. Leah graduated with a degree in product design and advertising from Southern Illinois University in 1979. She earned her MFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago in 1998, where she has been a professor of photography since 1999. In 2005 Leah and her husband, FK Day, founded World Bicycle Relief, a non-profit organization dedicated to independent mobility through the power of bicycles.
